The Composite Materials & Engineering Center at WSU provides a dynamic and collaborative environment for students from diverse academic backgrounds. With access to cutting-edge research opportunities and state-of-the-art facilities, graduate students can develop their problem-solving skills and gain real-world engineering experience through engaging in research or design projects. The CMEC’s involvement in various research projects allows students to work alongside experienced researchers and contribute to advancements in the field. Graduate students are typically accepted into the programs offered by the departments of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Mechanical and Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Biological Systems Engineering. Once admitted, students collaborate with their graduate committees to create customized plans of study. Unlike undergraduate programs, these graduate programs do not have specific course requirements. Instead, students have the autonomy to choose courses that align with their personal needs and research interests. This adaptable approach enables students to tailor their academic experience to match their career objectives and academic aspirations.
