WSU competes to build solar-powered homes

WSU students from a wide range of disciplines will work together to design and construct a solar-powered home for the 2017 Solar Decathlon competition, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy.

Sixteen college teams from across the world will compete to develop a 600- to 100-square foot net-zero house. This means it will produce all of the energy it uses from the sun, said Darrin Griechen, a clinical assistant professor in the School of Design and Construction in charge of the WSU team. [Read more…]
