Dr. Marie G. Laborie, Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering, was the keynote speaker for the COST (European Cooperation in the Field of Scientific and Technical Research) Action E35: “Fracture mechanics and micromechanics of wood and wood composites with regard to wood machining”. Her talk was entitled: “Cooperativity of segmental relaxation: application to wood and wood-based composites”. The meeting took place in Rosenheim Germany, Sept 29-30, 2005.
