Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) is an up-and-coming building material that has an enormous potential for cost-savings and construction time. CLT takes advantage of fast-growth trees or softwoods that become strong with more uniform characteristics when glued up in a cross-laminated member. This 9-ply specimen is 12x12in, 28ft long, and is being tested in a 3-point bending mode until rupture.
